Today lifestyle stress is a part of life. We will use the word stress to describe both a traffic delay and a death in the family. We say we are stressed when we feel anxious, busy, frustrated, threatened of under pressure. How does stress affects in our work, health and relationships. Because stress is in so many aspects of life, should you avoid stress or embrace stress?

Course Content

Module 1.0. Stressful events @ work
In today’s frantic world, the workplace too often seems like an emotional roller coaster. Long hours, tight deadlines, and ever-increasing demands can leave you feeling worried, drained, and overwhelmed. Take a moment to look at stress is harmful or helpful to you and how your decision make a difference to your outcome. The objective of this section is to : Understand whether stressful events at workplace are harmful or helpful to you.

Module 2.0. Science of changing Stress Mindset
People experience stress as either a challenge or a threat. Challenged feelings happen when you feel you have enough resources to cope with the situation. In contrast, when you feel the situation is too demanding, exceeding your resources, you experience threat. This is the Surprising New Science of How We Think About Stress. The objective of this section is to choose to change your mindset so that you can see the “Upside of Stress”.

Module 3.0. Stress Response
Cortisol and adrenaline are part of what scientist call the stress response. Therefore, we are educated that our body either flee or fight in stressful situation. We now learn stress response goes beyond Fight or Flight and evolve to activate our biological system so as to help us engage with challenges, connect with social support, and learn from experience. The section objective is to make use of our stress response to rise to the challenge, connect with others and learn & grow.

Module 4.0. Transform Stress
Transforming Stress into Resilience, helps you change your perspective of giving up to hopefulness in a stressful event. Being resilient is not a born trait but can be learned. The key to building resilience to help with your stress is to exercise optimism. The objective of this section is to encourage to experiment with transforming stress into resilience.

Module 5.0. EQ to embrace Stress
Embracing stress is more important than reducing stress. How can one cultivate a mindset to embrace stress? Research at Stanford has showed that viewing stress as a helpful part of life, rather than as harmful, is associated with better health, emotional well-being and productivity at work – even during periods of high stress. The objective of this section to discover and unlock your Emotional Intelligence to embrace stress.

Module 6.0. Resilience Framework
Resilience is an ability to bounce back from a negative experience with "competent functioning". To learn and develop this ability we will have to look at the Resilience Framework. The objective of this section is to develop a resilience framework to move forward to handle stressful events.
